Massey University Doctoral Scholarships are awarded to high achieving students to provide financial support for their doctoral study.
The award of the scholarship focuses on the academic excellence of the student, without limiting the selection to GPA, as well as ensuring that decisions are made in line with the University, College, and School research strategies.
The Massey University Doctoral Scholarship acknowledges the unique contribution that Māori and Pacific students make to academic research. Massey is committed to promoting equity of access to learning, teaching, and research.

Before you can apply for a doctoral scholarship you must have admission to a doctoral programme. Find out how to apply for doctoral admission.
The Massey University Doctoral Scholarship is available to both domestic and international students, as well as full-time and part-time candidates.
The scholarship value for full-time recipients is a stipend of $25,000 per annum plus tuition and non-tuition fees, for a maximum duration of 36 months. The value for part-time students is a stipend of $15,000 per annum plus tuition and non-tuition fees, for a maximum duration of 60 months.
The prestigious Massey University Vice-Chancellor's Doctoral Scholarship is awarded to the highest ranked applicants. Both full-time and part-time domestic students will be considered for this scholarship.
The scholarship value for full-time recipients is a stipend of $30,000 per annum plus tuition and non-tuition fees, for a maximum duration of 36 months. The value for part-time students is a stipend of $18,000 per annum plus tuition and non-tuition fees, for a maximum duration of 60 months.

Transcripts do not need to be submitted with the scholarship application form. Documentation provided as part of the admission process will form part of your application.
Applications close on 1 October for the following year tenure and 1 April for the current year tenure.
