Why study English Language Proficiency?

Our English Language Proficiency short courses enable you to improve your English for university study or personal development.

You will develop all your language skills, including pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar, and have the opportunity to develop skills for IELTS.

Classes are small and the teachers are highly qualified and experienced teachers of English.

Academic English is introduced for those students wanting to pathway into further study. You can pathway directly from English Language Proficiency to our Direct Entry English and Foundation programmes, or sit IELTS to gain admission to your degree.

On arrival you will be placed in the course at the right level for you, and your progress will be assessed and monitored regularly to make sure you are meeting your learning goals.

You will study on campus as a Massey University student so you can take advantage of all of the clubs, services and facilities that the university has to offer.

We look forward to welcoming you as a student of Massey University.

You will be required to sit an online English language placement test in your home country to determine the appropriate level of class to support your language development.

For general entry requirements see Massey University entry requirements.

You can join any intake throughout the year. For 2021, the intake dates are:

  • 7 June
  • 19 July
