We recommend all postgraduate and undergraduate students attend semester two orientation. There will be lots of events and workshops at our Wellington campus.

Tuesday 14 July - Friday 24 July 

Academic advice drop-ins

Drop in from Tuesday, 14 July to Friday, 24 July at any time between 9.00am & 12.30pm to meet with an adviser. Our Advisors can help with; admission and enrolment advice, planning your programme of study, course planning, changing your major or minor, workload management, understanding university regulations & future pathways.

Pasifika meet & greet lunch

A welcome for Pasifika students and their families hosted by our wonderful Pasifika support staff and Student Leaders.

Massey 101 

Hear from your Massey Guides (current students) about the things they wish they knew, how to get involved and advice you need to thrive in your first semester at University. They’ll give you all the insider tips about being a student in Wellington and answer any questions you may have. We’ll also have a discussion about our current and potential future Covid-19 situation and answer any questions around blended learning, different ways of working, health & well-being, support services, etc. RSVP HERE

Campus tour with your Massey Guides

Join your campus Massey Guides for a tour around campus, they’ll show you some tips and tricks to getting around our campus. Ask questions as you go to personalise the tour for you. RSVP HERE

Library tour & wifi set up

Come along and discover our library’s services and spaces. Get inside knowledge on how best to utilise the library during your time at Massey University. Also use this as a chance to connect your devices to Massey's network. Make sure you bring your student ID. RSVP HERE

Coffee & cake - with The National Centre for Teaching and Learning

The National Centre for Teaching and Learning (NCTL) provides a wide range of support services and learning resources to help enhance your academic skills and success whatever your level of study. MAWSA hangs

Come and hang with your Students’ Association (MAWSA). Chat with the ‘Exec’ about the wide range of services they offer including throwing events, supporting student-run clubs, advocating for you, and helping out when you fall on hard times. RSVP HERE

Thursday 16 July

PaCE academic orientation

Compulsory attendance for all new students currently based in New Zealand enrolled in the following qualifications: Certificate in Foundation Studies (CFS) / Certificate of University Preparation (CUP) / Foundation Certificate in Academic English (DEEP) / Foundation Certificate in Advanced Academic English (AdvDeep).

Creative Media Production (CMP) programme introduction

At this session:

  • Introduction to the CMP programme: all the things you need to know about the programme for the next 3 years.
  • CMP Timetable and Tech Store: finalising your timetable and finding out how to access our Tech Store to book out kit (eg cameras, microphones, tablets). Note: Make sure you bring your student ID number and password with you.
  • Tour of the CMP facilities.

Sunday 19 July 

Cube and Kāinga Rua new student welcome dinner

Come along and meet your residential assistants and new hall mates for Semester Two. Nobody wants to cook dinner after a long day of travelling and moving, so let us take care of that for you. Use this time to eat, relax and take some time for yourself. Please note this dinner is only for new halls of residence students in Semester Two.

Each venue on the Wellington campus is given a unique room number. For example, the location of room 5D14 is:

  • Block 5 (building number)
  • floor level D, and
  • room number 14.
